If you have applied for SSC CGL 2026, your next important task is to download your admit card and check every detail on it. You will not be allowed into the exam centre without it. When Will You Get Your Admit Card?

The Commission has announced that the exam will be held in different shifts on different dates between 30 September and 30 October 2026. Because of this, admit cards are not released for everyone at once. Your hall ticket will appear in your login about 2 to 3 days before your own exam date. For example, the link for candidates writing on 30 September went live on 27 September, and for those writing on 1 October it opened on 28 September.

How to Download the SSC CGL Admit Card 2026

1. Open the official Staff Selection Commission website, ssc.gov.in.
2. Choose the login option on the home page and enter your registration number and password.
3. Fill in the captcha or security code shown on screen and log in.
4. In your dashboard, open the CGL 2026 Tier 1 admit card or city slip link.
5. Once the admit card opens on screen, save it as a PDF.
6. Take a clear printout and keep it safe for exam day.

If you have forgotten your password, use the forgot password option on the login page. A reset facility is available on your registered mobile number or email. Never enter your login or personal details on unknown websites.

What to Check on Your Admit Card

• Your name, parent's name, date of birth and category
• Your photo and signature are correct and clearly visible
• Exam date, shift timing and reporting time
• Full address of the exam centre
• Exam instructions and the documents you need to carry

If you find any mistake, contact the Commission's helpline or the concerned regional office without delay so it can be sorted out before the exam.

What to Carry to the Exam Centre

• A clear printout of your admit card
• One valid photo ID (such as Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card, driving licence or passport). Check the instructions on your admit card to see which IDs are accepted.
• A passport size photograph, if the admit card asks for one
• A transparent ballpoint pen, if mentioned in the instructions

Exam Day Tips

• Reach on time: Entry is not allowed after the reporting time. Check the route and distance to the centre a day before.
• Do not carry prohibited items: Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices or any electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the centre.
• Read the instructions: Go through all the instructions shown on the computer before starting the exam.
• Understand negative marking: Marks are deducted for wrong answers, so answer carefully when you are not sure.
• Rest and eat well: Get a full night's sleep and have a light meal before the exam.
