जन आधार में बैंक अकाउंट कैसे जोड़ें या अपडेट करें: पूरी ऑनलाइन प्रक्रिया (2026)How to Add or Update Bank Account in Jan Aadhaar: Complete Online Process (2026)

Rajasthan • Jan Aadhaar Bank Account

How to Add or Update Bank Account in Jan Aadhaar: Complete Online Process (2026)

Scheme money in Rajasthan is paid directly into the bank account linked with your Jan Aadhaar, and this is always the account of the head of the family. If the bank account is missing, wrong or closed, payments can stop. This guide explains how to add or change the bank account, the documents, the fee, how NPCI verification works and how to fix common problems.

Key Points

  • A valid bank account in the name of the head of the family is mandatory for a Jan Aadhaar ID to be issued.
  • The bank details are verified through NPCI, which checks the account against Aadhaar.
  • Bank details can be changed 2 times per financial year. The first change is free and later ones cost Rs 40 each (as reported for 2026).
  • The update can be made through your SSO ID or at an e-Mitra centre after Aadhaar authentication.
  • Every change goes through two-level verification before it shows in the record.
  • Keep the account active, because a closed or dormant account can stop DBT payments.

Documents Required

ItemWhat to keep ready
Proof of the accountPassbook first page, bank statement or cancelled cheque showing account number and IFSC
Account holderThe head of the family (the account must be in the head's name)
AadhaarAadhaar of the head or an adult member for OTP authentication
Mobile numberThe Aadhaar-linked mobile that can receive the OTP

Steps: Add or Update the Bank Account Online

  1. Open sso.rajasthan.gov.in, log in with your SSO ID and open the Jan Aadhaar app.
  2. Enter your Jan Aadhaar number and complete Aadhaar OTP authentication.
  3. Choose the update option and select Bank Details.
  4. Enter the bank name, account number, IFSC code and the account holder's name exactly as in the passbook.
  5. Upload the passbook page or cancelled cheque and submit.
  6. Complete the e-Sign with the Aadhaar OTP.
  7. The bank details go for NPCI and two-level verification. Track the result with Jan Aadhaar Status.

Steps: Update the Bank Account at e-Mitra

  1. Visit the nearest e-Mitra centre with your Jan Aadhaar number and the passbook or cancelled cheque.
  2. Ask the operator to update the bank details in Jan Aadhaar.
  3. The head or an adult member completes Aadhaar authentication.
  4. The operator enters the account details. Complete the e-Sign and take the acknowledgement.
  5. The government-prescribed e-Mitra service charge applies.

NPCI Verification: What to Expect

  • Bank NPCI pending means the account is still being verified. Wait for the result.
  • If NPCI has not verified the bank details within 5 days of second-level verification, the Joint or Deputy Director of the District Statistics Office can verify them.
  • Stale or wrong account details are the most common reason for failure.
  • After a successful change, scheme payments go to the new account from the next payment.

Update Fee and Limit (from 1 June 2026)

ChangeLimitFee
Bank details2 times per financial yearFirst free, then Rs 40 each
  • This is as reported from Circular-10 dated 7 May 2026 for updates through your own SSO ID. Please confirm the current rule on the official portal.

Common Problems and Solutions

  • Account rejected: The account may not be in the head's name, may be dormant or may have a wrong IFSC. Re-enter with the exact passbook details.
  • Verified but no ID: The head's bank details or e-KYC are still pending.
  • Cannot edit: e-KYC of the head or a member is pending. Complete it first.
  • Wrong account entered: Update it again. The first change is free, so enter details carefully.
  • Head of family changed: Update the bank account to the new head's account.

Important Points

  • Rules and fees can change. Confirm on the official portal before you update.
  • Do not share your OTP or account details with agents.
