How to Add Wife's Name in Jan Aadhaar: Process After Marriage (2026)

After marriage the bride's name should come in her husband's Jan Aadhaar so that the family can use scheme benefits together. There are two cases: if she is not in any Jan Aadhaar she is added as a new member, and if she is in her parents' Jan Aadhaar she is transferred to her husband's family. The marital status and spouse's name are also updated. This guide explains both routes step by step.

Documents Required

Aadhaar card of the wife (and Aadhaar of the head or an adult member for OTP).
Aadhaar-linked mobile number for the OTP.
Jan Aadhaar number of the husband's family. For a transfer, also the Jan Aadhaar number of her parents' family.
Marriage proof such as a marriage certificate, if the portal or the verifying officer asks for it.
Bank account details of the head of the family (already in the record).

Case 1: Add Wife as a New Member

Open sso.rajasthan.gov.in, log in with your SSO ID and open the Jan Aadhaar app.
Enter your Jan Aadhaar number and complete Aadhaar OTP authentication.
Choose the update option and select Add Member.
Enter the wife's Aadhaar number and choose the relationship as wife / spouse.
Fill in her details and upload the documents.
Complete the e-Sign with the Aadhaar OTP.
After verification do her e-KYC and update the marital status and spouse's name of both partners.

Case 2: Transfer Wife from Her Parents' Jan Aadhaar

Keep the Jan Aadhaar numbers of both the parents' family and the husband's family ready.
In the Jan Aadhaar app on your SSO ID choose the option to transfer a member to another Jan Aadhaar family.
Select the wife and the family she is moving to, and complete Aadhaar authentication.
Upload the supporting documents (marriage proof if asked) and complete the e-Sign.
The request goes for two-level verification. After approval she appears in her husband's Jan Aadhaar.
Complete her e-KYC if it is pending and update the marital status and spouse's name.

Common Problems and Solutions

Wife's Aadhaar already in another family: Use the transfer option.
Name differs from Aadhaar after marriage: Correct the name in Aadhaar with UIDAI first, then do the e-KYC.
OTP not coming: Her Aadhaar mobile is not working or linked. Update it or use an e-Mitra centre.
Cannot edit: e-KYC of the head or a member is pending. Complete it first.
Request stuck: Check the status. Pending at citizen means the e-Sign is not done.

जरूरी दस्तावेज

अपना जन आधार नंबर डालें और आधार OTP प्रमाणीकरण पूरा करें।
अपडेट विकल्प चुनकर Add Member चुनें।
पत्नी का आधार नंबर डालें और रिश्ता पत्नी / जीवनसाथी चुनें।

स्थिति 2: पत्नी को मायके के जन आधार से ट्रांसफर करें

मायके के परिवार और पति के परिवार, दोनों के जन आधार नंबर तैयार रखें।
अपनी SSO ID में जन आधार ऐप में सदस्य को दूसरे जन आधार परिवार में ट्रांसफर करने का विकल्प चुनें।
पत्नी और जिस परिवार में वह जा रही है उसे चुनें, और आधार प्रमाणीकरण पूरा करें।
सहायक दस्तावेज (मांगे जाने पर विवाह प्रमाण) अपलोड करें और e-Sign पूरा करें।
अनुरोध दो स्तर के सत्यापन के लिए जाता है। मंजूरी के बाद वह पति के जन आधार में दिखने लगती है।
