Who Can Take the Online Test?
The online test is available in states and cases where the application is made with Aadhaar authentication, so that your name, address and photograph are picked from Aadhaar. If you change these details manually or do not use Aadhaar, the application may be treated as non-faceless and you may have to take the test at the RTO.

Steps: Take the Learner's Licence Online Test
- Apply for the learner's licence on sarathi.parivahan.gov.in using Aadhaar authentication and pay the fee.
- Watch the tutorial or instruction video shown on the portal, if provided.
- Open the online test option within the time allowed after your application is submitted.
- Allow camera access. Your live face is matched with the photograph in your Aadhaar record.
- Start the test and answer the objective questions on traffic rules and road signs within the time limit.
- Submit the test and check the result on screen.
- If you pass, download the learner's licence from Sarathi or through the SMS link.

If the internet drops, the camera fails or the face is not recognised, log in again if the portal allows it and retry. If you still cannot continue, note the time and the error message and contact your RTO, or book the test at the RTO instead. If you do not pass, you can book a retest after paying the test fee again.
