Eligibility and Exclusion

• Family members, age, address and fair price shop (FPS) mapping must be correct on the ration card or Jan Aadhaar
• Usually excluded: families with an income tax payer, regular government or semi-government employees, and in some cases families with a four-wheeler, high income or land and property above state limits. Read the declaration on the form carefully.
• Do not declare wrongly. A false declaration can lead to rejection or removal later.

How to Apply Online

1. Keep the Jan Aadhaar number, Aadhaar of every member and ration card number (if you already have one) ready.
2. Open the NFSA Application page on the RRCC portal, or use your SSO ID / an e-Mitra kiosk and search for the NFSA / Food Security service.
3. Select your district and enter the ration card number (or Jan Aadhaar details, as the screen asks).
4. Fill in the category, family member details and the declaration.
5. Submit and save the application or reference number.
6. After verification by the department, check the status. An approved case is added to the NFSA list.

Aadhaar Seeding / e-KYC, Status and Give Up

2. If biometric fails: check for mismatch in name, date of birth or mobile in Aadhaar and Jan Aadhaar, and fix it first.
3. Status: open the NFSA Application Status page on RRCC, enter the ration card number and captcha, and read whether it is approved, pending or rejected.
4. Beneficiary info: the Jan Soochna portal also shows NFSA service information.
5. Give Up: if your family no longer qualifies, you can voluntarily give up NFSA through the Give Up form on RRCC using district and ration card number.

• Exclusion rule hit (taxpayer, government employee, vehicle, property): do not apply if you do not qualify
