Rajasthan Birth Certificate: How to Update Mobile Number or Email (Pehchan)
If the mobile number linked to your birth record is old, changed or wrong, you may not get OTPs or be able to search and download the certificate. The Pehchan app lists a Mobile or Email Update service for exactly this problem.
Why Update the Mobile Number?
Pehchan lets citizens search records by mobile number and download digitally signed certificates through OTP, and it can also deliver certificates by email or WhatsApp. If the number on record is wrong, these services are blocked. Keeping the right mobile and email makes later downloads quick.
Documents Required
- Registration number or application number of the birth record, with year.
- Child's name (if added) and date of birth.
- The new mobile number and email, with the phone in hand for OTP.
- Parent's ID such as Aadhaar, if the registrar or e-Mitra asks.
Step-by-Step Process
- Install the Pehchan mobile app (Android / iOS) or open pehchan.rajasthan.gov.in.
- Find the option Mobile or Email Update.
- Search your birth record using registration number, date of birth or the old details, and select it.
- Enter the new mobile number and/or email.
- Verify with the OTP sent to the new number.
- Submit, note the reference number, then try Download Certificate with the new number.
- If the option fails or the record cannot be verified, visit the local registrar office or an e-Mitra kiosk.
