Important Dates

Vacancy Details

Technician = codes 101–106, Trade/ITI = codes 107–111, Graduate = code 112, DEO (Fresher and Skill Certificate) = codes 113–114. The seats are tentative and may increase or decrease at the management's discretion.

PwBD candidates: they are not eligible for codes 101–111 (all Technician and Trade/ITI disciplines). They can apply only for Graduate Apprentice (code 112) and Data Entry Operator (codes 113/114), and only in the sub-categories PV (low vision/blind), PH (hard of hearing/deaf), PL (locomotor, dwarfism, acid attack victim, cerebral palsy, leprosy cured) or MD (multiple disabilities). PwBD seats are counted within the total, not added to it.

Age Limit

Age is counted as on 30 September 2026.

Educational Qualification

• All qualifications must be regular full-time. Part-time, correspondence or distance qualifications make a candidate not eligible.
• CGPA/grades must be converted to a percentage as per the board/university norms, and the conversion certificate must be shown at document verification.
• Diploma holders admitted by lateral entry (Class 12 Science/ITI straight to 2nd year) are also eligible, with marks based on all semesters.
• A candidate can do a maximum of two apprenticeships in total, the second in a different trade, with at least a 1-year gap (no gap if the earlier training ended due to employer default).
• Candidates who hold or are pursuing a higher qualification (B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or equivalent) completed on or before joining are not eligible.
• Apply for only ONE discipline code. Applying for more than one gets all applications rejected.

Stipend

The monthly stipend is as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and the Apprentices Rules 1992/2019/2025, as amended. The notification does not state an exact monthly amount for each category.

Selection Process

1. There is no written test or interview. Candidates who register and apply on NAPS/NATS against the notified opportunity are considered.
2. A merit list is made for each post on the percentage of marks in the essential qualification.
3. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification and a Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Test. Read IOCL's physical fitness guidelines at iocl.com/apprenticeships before applying.
4. Candidates whose documents and medical certificate are in order get an Offer of Engagement.
5. Unfilled seats are filled from the remaining panel/merit list for the same opportunity.
6. SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates applying for Unreserved seats are considered only if they meet the General-category standard.

How to Apply

1. Trade Apprentice (ITI / Data Entry Operator): register at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
2. Technician (Diploma) and Graduate Apprentice: register at nats.education.gov.in.
3. Log in and apply against the opportunity listed under "Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Marketing Division) – Western Region" (NATS Establishment ID: WMHMCC000053; NAPS Establishment ID: E01172700332).
4. Complete your profile 100% (personal, educational, category details) and apply for any ONE discipline code only.
5. Submit by 4 November 2026, 5:00 PM, well before the deadline.
6. Apply only for the Western Region states/UTs listed. Choosing a training location outside them gets the application rejected. Corrections are not allowed after final submission.

Documents Required

Keep these ready for document verification (originals plus a self-attested copy):

• 10th / SSLC / Matriculation certificate or marksheet (the only accepted proof of date of birth)
• Latest caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC) in the prescribed government format from a competent authority
• OBC-NCL: caste certificate not older than 12 months (from 30.09.2026) clearly excluding creamy-layer status; the caste must be in the Central List for that state
• Regular-mode and year-of-passing certificate from the institute
• Semester/year-wise marksheets of ITI (NCVT/SCVT), HSC, Graduation or Diploma
• Final ITI / HSC / Graduation / Diploma certificate
• First page of Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook, Aadhaar card, PAN card and a cancelled cheque
• Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Certificate
• PwBD candidates: disability certificate as per the RPwD Rules, 2017

Important Conditions

• Keep an active email ID and mobile number valid for at least 1 year. All communication (document verification, offer letter) is sent by email only.
• Candidature is provisional. If ineligibility, false information or hidden facts are found, engagement can be cancelled at any stage, even after joining.
• Candidates registered with an Employment Exchange or a Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (for PwBD) must apply through the NAPS/NATS portal.
• Completing document verification or empanelment gives no right to engagement as an apprentice.
• After the apprenticeship, IOCL has no obligation to offer a job, and the apprentice cannot claim one.
• Canvassing in any form disqualifies a candidate.
• Any corrigendum or addendum will be published only on iocl.com/apprenticeships.
• The management's decision on eligibility, selection mode and cancellation of the process is final and binding.
