Application Fee

SC, ST and PwD candidates pay the full fee online even where a post is not reserved for them. The fee is refunded after they appear in the written exam or interview, less GST and bank charges, once the category certificate is checked. They must upload the certificate while paying. Payment by any other mode is rejected.

Vacancy Details

No post is reserved for Cat-a or Cat-d & e under PwBD. The notice says the number of vacancies may vary.

Age Limit (as on 22-11-2026)

The maximum age is 40 years. Age, experience and all other criteria are counted as on 22 November 2026.

PwBD benefits need a disability of at least 40%. The post is identified for locomotor disability (OA, OL) and hearing impairment (HI).

Eligibility Criteria

• The diploma or degree must come from an institution recognised by BTE or AICTE, or a university incorporated by an Act of Parliament or a State, or a deemed university.
• Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India) exam are also accepted.
• Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship or PhD research experience is not counted.
• If your mark sheet has no percentage, produce the university’s conversion formula. A CGPA of at least 5 on a 10-point scale is treated as 50% if the university gives none.

Salary and Tenure

These are approximate amounts at the minimum of the scale. Pay is revised with the minimum wage rates notified by the Central Government. The job is on contract for one year, extendable by mutual consent. It can end without notice for poor performance, misconduct or if the client discontinues the work. There is no right to a permanent job.

Selection Process

1. Written test.
2. Document scrutiny of shortlisted candidates.
3. Merit list and provisional offers.
4. Original document verification at joining and a medical fitness check.

The test has 125 objective questions of 1 mark each, in 2.5 hours, with no negative marking. PwBD candidates get 50 minutes extra. You need at least 50% (UR/EWS) or 45% (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts) to be considered.

Tentative test centres: Chennai, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram and Secunderabad. RITES may allot a centre you did not choose.

How to Apply Online for RITES Senior Technical Assistant 2026

1. Open the registration format in the Career section of rites.com between 2 and 22 November 2026.
2. Note the Registration No. at the top of the form and quote it in all communication.
3. Fill in the details under “Fill/Modify Application Form” and enter your identity proof carefully. The same proof is needed in original later.
4. Give two preferences for the written test centre.
5. Upload all documents under “Upload Document”.
6. Pay the fee under “Make Payment”, then download the final application form, sign it and keep a copy.

Documents to upload

• High School certificate as date-of-birth proof.
• Academic and professional certificates and mark sheets of all years.
• Percentage conversion document, if applicable.
• EWS / SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PwBD certificate in the Government of India format.
• Identity and address proof, and PAN card.
• Experience proof for each period, in one PDF in chronological order (joining order, relieving letter, service certificate, pay slips). An offer letter is not accepted.
• Hard copies are not to be sent by post or courier.

Submit only one application per vacancy. An application cannot be changed after submission. Queries go only to cont.rectt@rites.com, quoting the VC No. and your registration number.
