Application Fee

Pay online by debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI or wallet. The fee is non-refundable. If the money is deducted but the confirmation does not download, use “Verify Payment” before paying again.

Age Limit (as on 03-11-2026)

Eligibility Criteria

• Class 10 with at least 50% aggregate from a recognised board.
• ITI National Trade Certificate in the notified trade from NCVT, or a provisional certificate from NCVT/SCVT.
• 10th pass alone is not enough. An ITI is compulsory.
• Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible.
• Anyone who has done or is doing apprenticeship should not apply.

Trades (some of them)

Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Carpenter, Machinist, Turner, Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, COPA, Painter, Sheet Metal Worker, Mason, Blacksmith, Plumber, Cable Jointer, Wireman, Stenographer, Tailor and other technical trades. Choose a unit that offers slots in your ITI trade.

Stipend

It is a stipend, not a railway salary. You must arrange your own accommodation. You sign a Contract of Apprenticeship Training, and a guardian signs it if you are a minor.

Selection Process

1. Online application on rrccr.com.
2. Merit list from the simple average of Class 10 and ITI percentages.
3. Document verification of the shortlisted candidates.
4. Medical fitness certificate.
5. Engagement for training.

Merit % = (Class 10 aggregate % + ITI %) / 2. There is no written exam and no interview. The lists are made cluster-wise, unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise, not as one list for all 2,861 slots. On a tie, the older candidate is preferred, then the one who passed Class 10 earlier. For grade-based Class 10 results, use the midpoint of the grade’s marks range as the notice explains.

How to Apply Online for Central Railway Apprentice 2026

1. Visit www.rrccr.com and find Notification No. RRC/CR/AA/2026.
2. Download and read the full notification and the trade and unit tables.
3. Click Apply Online and register with your details and Aadhaar.
4. Enter your Class 10 and ITI percentages and trade accurately.
5. Select only one cluster and choose units in order of preference.
6. Enter community details, upload your photograph, signature and certificates.
7. Review, pay the ₹100 fee unless exempt, and submit before 2 December 2026, 5:00 PM.
8. Print the application and keep the registration number and receipt.

Photograph and signature

Do not submit multiple applications, as all of them may be rejected. Shortlisted candidates must bring the medical fitness certificate (Annexure VII) signed by a Government gazetted medical officer. No TA/DA is paid. Editing is not possible after final submission.
