Unit-wise Training Slots

The 2,008 slots cover trades such as Electrician (Coaching, Power, TRD), Fitter, Welder, Carpenter, Painter, Mason, Pipe Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Turner/Machinist, Electronics Mechanic, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Machine Tool Maintenance, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. The number of slots is provisional and may go up or down at the time of final selection.

• If SC or ST seats stay vacant, they can be filled by the other of the two groups, and then by other candidates.
• Vacant OBC and EWS seats go to unreserved candidates.
• PwBD and Ex-servicemen seats are included in the slots above, not added on top.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

• Class 10 (or equivalent) pass with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised Board, with no rounding off.
• A National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the notified trade from NCVT or SCVT.
• You must already hold the qualification on the date you apply. Candidates waiting for final results should not apply.

Age limit (as on 6 November 2026)

Age relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years.
• OBC: 3 years.
• PwBD: 10 years.
• Ex-servicemen: Up to 10 additional years, limited to the service rendered in the Defence Forces plus 3 years, if at least 6 months of continuous service was completed. This does not apply to ex-servicemen who already joined civil government service after using the ex-servicemen benefit.

Documents for reservation claims

• SC/ST: Caste certificate in the Central Government format.
• OBC: Caste certificate and Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026, in the Central Government format, plus an OBC declaration.
• EWS: EWS certificate in the prescribed format.
• Ex-servicemen and Armed Forces personnel or their children: Discharge certificate, or a serving certificate for children of serving personnel. Ex-servicemen are placed in their own category (UR, SC, ST or OBC).

Training and stipend

The stipend and training period follow the Railway Board rules, and the notification does not state an amount. No hostel is provided. Before training begins, you (or your guardian if you are a minor) must sign a Contract of Apprenticeship.

Application Fee

Pay online through the payment gateway by debit card, credit card or net banking, after you have checked the completed form. You cannot edit the form after paying. Transaction charges are paid by you. Print and keep the e-receipt.

Selection Process

There is no written exam. Selection is by merit list.

1. Merit score: The simple average of your Matriculation percentage (all subjects, minimum 50%) and your ITI percentage in the trade you apply for. ITI marks are taken from the provisional or final certificate.
2. Tie-break: The older candidate ranks first. If the date of birth is also the same, the one who passed Matriculation earlier ranks first.
3. Merit list: Prepared unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise, equal to the number of slots. There is no single central list, so each unit ranks only those who applied to it.
4. Document verification and medical: Shortlisted candidates show original certificates and a medical certificate in the prescribed format, signed by a government gazetted doctor not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.

How to Apply Online

1. Go to rrcjaipur.in between 7 October and 6 November 2026 and fill in your personal details. Enter a valid 12-digit Aadhaar number. You must show the original Aadhaar at document verification.
2. Select one unit only, after checking that a slot exists for your ITI trade there. It cannot be changed after final submission.
3. Upload a recent colour photo: 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm, not older than 3 months, JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 20 KB to 70 KB, front view without cap or sunglasses.
4. Upload your signature: 3.5 cm × 2.5 cm, JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 20 KB to 30 KB.
5. Pay the fee (if it applies to you) through the payment gateway after checking every detail.
6. Download and keep a printout of the submitted form for document verification.

Important Instructions

• Apply to only one unit. Several applications with different details (name, father's name, community, photo, qualification, email or mobile) will all be rejected.
• Training does not give any right to a railway job afterwards. Under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, neither side has to offer or accept employment.
• The railway administration's decision on eligibility and selection is final, and no letters about engagement are entertained.
• Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
• If you are found ineligible at any stage, you can be dismissed without notice.
• A helpline number will appear on the website from 7 October 2026, working 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM except Sundays and holidays.
