SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27: 710 Vacancies for ITI, Diploma and Graduates

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has opened applications for apprenticeship training for 2026-27. The programme is meant for ITI pass-outs, engineering diploma and degree holders, and a few general graduate streams. Selected candidates will learn on the job in a working steel plant under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The last date to apply on the government portals is 20 October 2026.

Vacancy Details

A. Trade Apprentices (ITI): ITI pass in the relevant trade from a government-recognised institute. Total 516 seats.

B. Graduate / Diploma Apprentices: Diploma or degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised institute or university. Total 124 diploma and 70 degree seats.

Seat numbers are indicative and may change at any time.

Stipend (per month)

For graduate and diploma apprentices, 50% of the stipend is paid by BSP and the other 50% by BOPT through DBT.

Eligibility

• Only candidates who passed the qualifying exam as regular students can apply.
• The qualifying exam must have been passed in the last five years (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026).
• Candidates whose result is not declared by the last date of application are not eligible.
• Anyone who has completed or is currently undergoing one year of apprenticeship training or work experience is not eligible.
• Age limit: 18 years minimum and 28 years maximum as on 31 October 2026.
• Reservation: As per Chhattisgarh Government norms, with applicable age relaxation.

Before You Apply

• Trade (ITI) candidates must first register on apprenticeshipindia.org.
• Graduate / diploma candidates must first register on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in).
• Keep an active email ID and mobile number valid for at least one more year. All further communication will be by email only.
• Verify every detail before final submission. Your bank account must be DBT-enabled and KYC verified.
• The candidate is fully responsible for the information submitted. Keep a printout of the application.

How to Apply

For ITI candidates:

1. Register as a candidate on apprenticeshipindia.org and log in.
2. Open Apprenticeship Opportunity and search by establishment name: SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant.
3. Apply for your trade against the listed vacancy. Applications without portal registration and application are not accepted.

For Degree / Diploma candidates:

1. Register as a student on nats.education.gov.in and log in.
2. Go to Establishments Requests and click Find Establishments.
3. Select Steel Authority of India Limited, Bhilai Steel Plant and apply for your branch.

After applying successfully on the portal, eligible candidates should attend the walk-in on the dates below.

Documents to Carry to the Walk-in

• Self-attested copy of Class 10 certificate (for date of birth)
• Self-attested copy of provisional pass certificate
• Self-attested copy of SC / ST / OBC / PwD certificate, if applicable
• Self-attested copy of Aadhaar card / passbook (e-KYC mandatory)
• Medical fitness certificate from a government hospital
• Apprentice registration copy from the NAPS / NATS portal

Enter marks as a percentage. If you have a CGPA, convert it as per your board or university rules. Incomplete or wrong applications after the deadline will be rejected, and any canvassing leads to disqualification.

Selection Process

Selection is by merit through the walk-in process, giving 30% weightage to Class 10 marks and 70% weightage to ITI / Diploma / Degree marks.
