Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana (RKVY) 2026: Free 18-Day Railway Training for Class 10 Pass Youth, New Batch Every Month
This Ministry of Railways scheme gives Class 10 pass youth aged 18 to 35 free 3-week (18-day) training in 16 trades at railway training institutes across India. It gives no claim to a railway job. Applications are online only.

Latest Status
- September 2026 batch: applications 8 to 21 August 2026, 103 institutes, 18 states, 5,927 seats in total.
- October 2026 batch: the notification came on 7 September 2026 and applications ran from 8 to 21 September 2026. Both windows are now closed.
- A new batch is generally notified every month, so a window for the November 2026 batch may be open around now. Check the Rail Kaushal Vikas portal for the new notice. Seats and institutes change with each batch.
- No stipend, allowance or travel facility is given during training. You bear your own food and stay.
- There is no reservation under the scheme, and training is given without discrimination.

Seats differ in each batch. Some trades, such as bar bending, may have no seats in a given batch. Fitter, electrical and welding generally have more seats.
Training Rules
- At least 75% attendance is compulsory.
- At least 55% in the written test and 60% in the practical test.
- A candidate can train only once and in only one course.
- On passing you get a training certificate, but no right to a railway job, and trainees are not railway employees.
- You must follow the institute's rules and safety instructions. Damage to equipment may have to be paid for.
- The institute may postpone, curtail or cancel the training.
Documents Required
- No documents are uploaded in the online application.
- After selection, show originals at the institute: Class 10 marksheet (and date-of-birth proof if not on the marksheet).
- Photo ID (Aadhaar, bank passbook, ration card or PAN).
- Notarised affidavit on ₹10 non-judicial stamp paper.
- Medical fitness certificate from a registered doctor (vision, hearing, mental state, no infectious disease).
- Photo and signature.
How to Apply
- Open the RKVY portal and choose "Apply Now".
- Register and read the information booklet carefully.
- Fill in the application form and choose your preferred course (trade).
- Submit within the stated window.
- You will be informed of the selected and waiting lists, based on Class 10 marks, by email and message. CGPA is converted to a percentage by multiplying by 9.5.
- Go to the institute with originals and complete the training with 75% attendance.

प्रशिक्षण के नियम
- कम से कम 75% उपस्थिति ज़रूरी।
- लिखित परीक्षा में कम से कम 55% और व्यावहारिक परीक्षा में कम से कम 60% अंक।
- एक उम्मीदवार एक ही बार और एक ही पाठ्यक्रम में प्रशिक्षण ले सकता है।
- सफल होने पर प्रशिक्षण प्रमाण पत्र, पर रेलवे में नौकरी का अधिकार नहीं और प्रशिक्षु रेलवे कर्मचारी नहीं माने जाते।
- संस्थान के नियम और सुरक्षा निर्देश मानने होंगे। उपकरण को नुकसान पर भरपाई करनी पड़ सकती है।
- संस्थान प्रशिक्षण को आगे-पीछे, कम या रद्द भी कर सकता है।
आवश्यक दस्तावेज़
- ऑनलाइन आवेदन में कोई दस्तावेज़ अपलोड नहीं करना होता।
- चयन के बाद संस्थान में मूल दस्तावेज़ दिखाने होते हैं: 10वीं की अंकतालिका (और जन्म तिथि का प्रमाण, यदि अंकतालिका में न हो)।
- फोटो पहचान पत्र (आधार, बैंक पासबुक, राशन कार्ड या PAN)।
- ₹10 के नॉन-ज्यूडिशियल स्टाम्प पर नोटरी से प्रमाणित शपथ पत्र।
- पंजीकृत डॉक्टर का चिकित्सीय स्वस्थता प्रमाण पत्र (दृष्टि, श्रवण, मानसिक स्थिति, संक्रामक रोग नहीं)।
- फोटो और हस्ताक्षर।
आवेदन कैसे करें
- RKVY पोर्टल पर जाएँ और "अभी आवेदन करें" चुनें।
- पंजीकरण करें और सूचना पुस्तिका ध्यान से पढ़ें।
- आवेदन फॉर्म भरें और अपनी पसंद का पाठ्यक्रम (ट्रेड) चुनें।
- निर्धारित अवधि में आवेदन जमा करें।
- 10वीं के अंकों पर बनी चयन और प्रतीक्षा सूची की ईमेल और संदेश से सूचना मिलेगी। CGPA को 9.5 से गुणा करके प्रतिशत बनाया जाता है।
