Rajasthan Ghar Ghar Aushadhi Yojana: Free Medicinal Plants (Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Giloy, Kalmegh) for Families
Under the Ghar Ghar Aushadhi Yojana the Rajasthan Forest Department gives families kits of four medicinal herb plants: Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Giloy and Kalmegh. The aim is better health and the protection and spread of medicinal plants. There is no application form. Plants are given from forest nurseries and notified distribution points. At distribution the Jan Aadhaar or Aadhaar details of the beneficiary are noted in the records.
How to Get the Plants
- Find your nearest forest nursery or the distribution point announced for your district. The sites are decided by a committee headed by the District Collector.
- Carry your Jan Aadhaar or Aadhaar and mobile number.
- Ask for the Ghar Ghar Aushadhi plants. Choose the plants as allowed in the current year's rules.
- The staff will record your details and hand over the plants.
- Plant them at home and take care of them. Ask the staff about each plant's use.
Distribution dates, quantity and any charge differ by district and year. Since 2022 the department has also supplied plants on Jan Aadhaar at government-fixed rates. Please ask your Range Forest Office before you go.
