Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana (Rajasthan Livestock Insurance) 2026: Free Insurance up to Rs 40,000 per Animal, Eligibility and Claim
Rajasthan's livestock insurance scheme is officially called the Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana. Livestock keepers get free insurance with no premium, and the cover is up to Rs 40,000 per animal. It replaced the earlier Kamdhenu Pashu Bima Yojana.

- Cover amount: April 2026 reports say the sum insured is up to Rs 40,000 per animal, fixed by breed, age and milk-yielding capacity.
- Target doubled: The target for the year is 42 lakh milch animals, double the previous year's 21 lakh. Over 34.34 lakh animals were registered and about 19.37 lakh policies were issued by April 2026.
- Claims: By February 2026, 10,756 claims had been settled with over Rs 20 crore paid. An earlier February 2026 report in the Assembly gave 6,984 claims and Rs 13.70 crore, so the figure has grown with time.
- Many applications rejected: One report says about 5.32 lakh applications were rejected after inspection because the animal was not found, was sold, was sick, was not milch, or was outside the age limit.
- Camel limit raised from 1 to 10 camels per keeper.
- Priority: Households linked to the Gopal Credit Card or the Lakhpati Didi programme get priority. 16% of places are kept for Scheduled Castes and 12% for Scheduled Tribes.

How to Register
- Collect the application form from your nearest government veterinary hospital and fill it in.
- Submit it with the documents at the same place.
- After a first check, the applications are sent to the insurance company for registration.
- The veterinarian and the insurance agent inspect the animal, tag it and issue a health certificate.
- After online entry, the policy documents are sent to your mobile.
The newer news reports do not describe the registration steps. The steps above are from the scheme page. Ask your veterinary office for the current method, since registration may also be done through camps or a portal.
How to Claim When an Animal Dies
- Inform the veterinarian as soon as the animal dies.
- The veterinarian does the postmortem and prepares the panchnama.
- Get the claim form from the insurance company office or the veterinary hospital.
- File the claim within 21 days, as per the scheme page.
- After checks, the insured amount is paid into your bank account.

पंजीकरण कैसे करें
- नज़दीकी सरकारी पशु चिकित्सालय से आवेदन पत्र लेकर भरें।
- दस्तावेज़ों के साथ वहीं जमा करें।
- प्रारंभिक जाँच के बाद आवेदन पंजीकरण के लिए बीमा कंपनी को भेजे जाते हैं।
- पशु चिकित्सक और बीमा कंपनी का एजेंट पशु की जाँच कर टैगिंग करते हैं और स्वास्थ्य प्रमाण पत्र जारी करते हैं।
- ऑनलाइन एंट्री के बाद पॉलिसी दस्तावेज़ आपके मोबाइल पर भेज दिए जाते हैं।
हाल की समाचार रिपोर्टों में पंजीकरण की प्रक्रिया नहीं बताई गई है। ऊपर के चरण योजना पेज से हैं। वर्तमान तरीका अपने पशु चिकित्सा कार्यालय से पूछें, क्योंकि पंजीकरण शिविर या पोर्टल से भी हो सकता है।
पशु की मृत्यु पर क्लेम कैसे करें
- पशु की मृत्यु होते ही पशु चिकित्सक को सूचित करें।
- पशु चिकित्सक पोस्टमार्टम करता है और पंचनामा बनाता है।
- क्लेम फॉर्म बीमा कंपनी कार्यालय या पशु चिकित्सालय से लें।
- योजना पेज के अनुसार 21 दिन के भीतर क्लेम करें।
- जाँच के बाद बीमित राशि आपके बैंक खाते में दी जाती है।
