Latest Update
- Name change: The Indira Rasoi Yojana was renamed the Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana on 6 January 2024. The Indira Rasoi name is no longer used, but the Rs 8 meal scheme continues under the new name.
- Bigger thali, bigger grant: The government grant per thali was raised from Rs 17 to Rs 22, and the thali weight from 450 g to 600 g. Pickle and millets (Shree Anna) are now part of the meal.
- Payment delays reported in some places (June 2026): A Dausa report says rasoi operators had not received the government grant since December 2025, and some owed Rs 6 to 8 lakh in dues. The district collector promised to get the pending payments cleared. If a rasoi near you is closed or the serving is reduced, this may be a reason.

Who Can Eat

- Go during lunch or dinner time.

- You can give feedback through the SMS you receive or to the local body office.
How the Rasoi Are Run
- Local voluntary organisations and self-help groups run the kitchens. District-level committees decide locations, menu and timings.
- Each rasoi gets a one-time Rs 5 lakh for setting up, and Rs 3 lakh a year for running costs.
- State and district committees inspect the kitchens and check food quality.
