GeM Registration – Sell to Government on Government e-Marketplace

What is GeM?

Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is the online procurement portal launched by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 2016. Central and state departments, PSUs and other government bodies buy goods and services from registered sellers on it, through a transparent and cashless process.

Who Can Register as a Seller?

  • Sole proprietors, partnership firms, LLPs and companies
  • Manufacturers, traders, service providers and startups
  • MSMEs with Udyam registration get extra benefits

You need a valid PAN (individual PAN for proprietors, entity PAN for firms and companies).

Documents Required

  • PAN of the business (or owner for proprietorship)
  • Aadhaar of the authorised person, with Aadhaar-linked mobile number for OTP
  • GSTIN, where applicable
  • Udyam / MSME certificate (and NSIC registration, if any)
  • Bank account details or cancelled cheque
  • Business registration proof: incorporation certificate, partnership deed or similar

GeM checks details against government databases, so names must match exactly across PAN, Aadhaar and GST.

How to Register

  1. Visit gem.gov.in and choose Register as Seller
  2. Verify Aadhaar through OTP
  3. Verify PAN and enter GSTIN and business details
  4. Link Udyam / MSME number if you have one
  5. Upload documents and complete the seller profile
  6. Submit and wait for verification
  7. List your products or services in the catalogue and start bidding

Verification can take from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the documents.

कौन सेलर बन सकता है?

  • प्रोपराइटर, पार्टनरशिप फर्म, LLP और कंपनियां
  • निर्माता, व्यापारी, सेवा प्रदाता और स्टार्टअप
  • Udyam पंजीकृत MSME को अतिरिक्त लाभ मिलते हैं

वैध PAN चाहिए (प्रोपराइटर के लिए व्यक्तिगत PAN, फर्म और कंपनी के लिए संस्था का PAN)।

ज़रूरी दस्तावेज़

  • कारोबार का PAN (प्रोपराइटरशिप में मालिक का)
  • अधिकृत व्यक्ति का आधार, OTP के लिए आधार से जुड़ा मोबाइल नंबर
  • GSTIN, जहां लागू हो
  • Udyam / MSME प्रमाणपत्र (और NSIC पंजीकरण, यदि हो)
  • बैंक खाते का विवरण या कैंसिल चेक
  • कारोबार पंजीकरण प्रमाण: इनकॉर्पोरेशन सर्टिफिकेट, पार्टनरशिप डीड आदि

GeM जानकारी को सरकारी डेटाबेस से मिलाता है, इसलिए PAN, आधार और GST में नाम बिल्कुल एक जैसे होने चाहिए।

रजिस्ट्रेशन कैसे करें

  1. gem.gov.in पर जाकर सेलर के रूप में रजिस्टर चुनें
  2. OTP से आधार सत्यापित करें
  3. PAN सत्यापित करें और GSTIN व कारोबार की जानकारी भरें
  4. Udyam / MSME नंबर हो तो जोड़ें
  5. दस्तावेज़ अपलोड करें और सेलर प्रोफाइल पूरी करें
  6. सबमिट करें और सत्यापन का इंतज़ार करें
  7. कैटलॉग में अपने उत्पाद या सेवाएं जोड़ें और बिडिंग शुरू करें

दस्तावेज़ों के अनुसार सत्यापन में कुछ दिन से कुछ सप्ताह लग सकते हैं।
