What is a Tobacco License?

There is no single tobacco licence in India. What you need depends on your activity: Tobacco Board registration for the Virginia tobacco trade, a trade licence from the local authority for wholesale or retail sale, and compliance with the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 (COTPA). Rules also differ by state, so check with your local authority.

The Tobacco Board is set up under the Tobacco Board Act, 1975, has its head office in Guntur and works under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Address proof of the business premises with owner's NOC if rented
GST registration and local trade licence or Shop Act registration
FSSAI registration, where applicable
IEC and bank details for exporters

टोबैको बोर्ड, टोबैको बोर्ड अधिनियम, 1975 के तहत बना है, इसका मुख्यालय गुंटूर में है और यह वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत काम करता है।

ज़रूरी दस्तावेज़

मालिक या डायरेक्टर का ID प्रूफ, PAN और फोटो
कारोबार पंजीकरण (इनकॉर्पोरेशन सर्टिफिकेट, पार्टनरशिप डीड या प्रोपराइटरशिप प्रमाण)
कारोबार परिसर का पता प्रमाण, किराये पर हो तो मालिक का NOC
GST रजिस्ट्रेशन और स्थानीय ट्रेड लाइसेंस या शॉप एक्ट पंजीयन
FSSAI पंजीयन, जहां लागू हो
निर्यातकों के लिए IEC और बैंक विवरण

अनुपालन नियम (COTPA)

18 वर्ष से कम उम्र के व्यक्ति को तंबाकू उत्पाद बेचना प्रतिबंधित है
शैक्षणिक संस्थानों के पास (100 गज के भीतर) बिक्री प्रतिबंधित है
पैकेजिंग और स्वास्थ्य चेतावनी के नियम मानने होते हैं
