What Has Changed?
From session 2026-27, the Rajasthan Board has changed the Class 10 exam system. The exam will now be held in two phases within the same academic session. The first is the regular main exam and the second is a corrective exam, meant to give students an extra chance to improve their result or marks.
Main Exam Is Compulsory
The main exam is treated as the regular exam of the session and further processing is based on it. Admission to Class 11 will also be given on the basis of the main exam result.
Who Can Appear in the Corrective Exam?
- Students who pass the main exam can appear in the second exam to improve their marks.
- Students who meet the board's eligibility rules will also get this chance.
- Conditions on the number of subjects and the student's status must be met.
- Not every student gets an automatic right to the second exam after the main exam.
What If You Fail in 3 or More Subjects?
If a student fails in three or more subjects in the main exam, or does not get the required marks as per the rules, they will not be allowed to appear in the corrective exam. The board has set a separate result category and arrangement for the next exam for such students. So passing in as many subjects as possible in the main exam is important.
Rules for Practical Exams
- For subjects with practical exams, students must satisfy the conditions of both the main exam and the practical exam.
- Minimum prescribed marks in the practical exam are required.
- The board links practical attendance and marks to the result preparation process.
Syllabus
Both the main and corrective exams will be held on the same prescribed syllabus. No new or separate syllabus will be given for the corrective exam.
How Will the Result Be Prepared?
For students who take the corrective exam, the result will be prepared as per board rules using the marks from both the main and corrective exams. If a student performs better in the second exam, the benefit will be reflected in the result as per the rules.
Admission to Class 11
- Admission to Class 11 will be based on the main exam result.
- The board has issued necessary rules on subject selection and results.
- Students should check their result and board eligibility at the time of admission.
- Schools must follow the board's guidelines during admission.
Benefits for Students
Students who fall short of their expected marks in the main exam but want to improve in a few subjects will not have to wait a whole year. They can improve in the second exam of the same session, provided eligibility and subject-count rules are met.
