Panch-Sarpanch elections for 14,403 Gram Panchayats in Rajasthan will be held in four phases. Before filing a Sarpanch nomination you need Form IV, Declaration IV-D, identity and age proof, photographs, the security deposit and your proposers' details. Documents Required and Checklist for Nomination
- Nomination form (Form IV): fully filled in the prescribed format and signed.
- Declaration (Form IV-D): the declaration filed along with the nomination.
- Copy of Aadhaar card.
- Copy of Voter ID.
- Name and serial number in the voter list: note them from your panchayat's voter list in advance.
- Proof of age: Class 10 marksheet, birth certificate or any government document showing your age.
- Passport-size photographs: 4 to 6.
- Caste certificate: a valid certificate of the relevant category if the seat is reserved for SC/ST/OBC.
- Security deposit: Rs. 500 for general male, Rs. 250 for women/SC/ST/OBC.
- 5 proposers: 5 voters of the same Gram Panchayat, with their voter serial numbers and signatures.

How Many Proposers Are Needed?
According to news reports, a Sarpanch candidate needs 5 voter proposers from the same Gram Panchayat. Keep the voter serial numbers and voter-list details of all proposers ready, since their signatures are required. Confirm the number of proposers with your RO before filing.
How to File the Nomination (Step by Step)
- Find out your Gram Panchayat's phase, the nomination date and the office of the Returning Officer (RO) or Assistant RO.
- Check your name and serial number in the voter list.
- Collect Form IV and Declaration IV-D from the RO/Assistant RO office and fill them in carefully.
- Get the 5 proposers' names, voter serial numbers and signatures.
- Keep document copies, photographs and the security deposit ready.
- Submit the nomination at the RO/Assistant RO office on the fixed day and time. Only 5 people including the candidate may go inside.
- Stay in touch with the scrutiny, withdrawal and symbol allotment held the same day.
