The third round of village government elections in Rajasthan is in its final stretch today. In Phase 3 of the Rajasthan Panchayat Election 2026, voters are choosing sarpanches in 3,716 gram panchayats and ward panches in 34,218 wards across 27 districts on Thursday, 5 November. Polling began at 7 AM and runs until 6 PM. Because votes are cast on ballot papers, counting starts at the same booth as soon as polling closes, and most sarpanch election results are expected late tonight. The upsarpanch (deputy sarpanch) will be elected the next day, 6 November.
Sarpanch Result Phase 3: Latest Status Today
According to media reports, in some areas, such as Bhadesar in Chittorgarh and the Pahari panchayat samiti in Deeg, a few sarpanches have already been elected unopposed. In the remaining panchayats the real outcome will be clear only after the votes are counted. In Jaipur district alone, 856 candidates are in the race for sarpanch across 133 gram panchayats today.

How Are Sarpanch and Panch Votes Counted?
- Ballot paper voting: Voters stamp the ballot for sarpanch and ward panch. EVMs were used only for the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti member polls.
- Counting at the same centre: After polling ends at 6 PM, ballot boxes are opened and counted at the same location, and the result is announced there.
- Security: Police are deployed at sensitive centres and the administration is monitoring the whole process.

Polling on 5 November is taking place in panchayats of these 27 districts: Balotra, Baran, Banswara, Beawar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dausa, Deeg, Dholpur, Didwana-Kuchaman, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jalore, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Khairthal-Tijara, Kotputli-Behror, Pratapgarh, Salumber, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Sri Ganganagar, Tonk and Udaipur. Phase 3 covers areas under 116 panchayat samitis.
68.39% Turnout in the 3 November Member Polls
In the same Phase 3 areas, voters used EVMs on 3 November to elect Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members, with an overall turnout of 68.39%. Banswara led in turnout while Dausa lagged behind. Those results will not come yet: counting for these members, across all phases, takes place on 20 November.
