Applications are open for Reliance Foundation Scholarships 2026-27 for first-year students in India. Of the 5,100 awards, 5,000 are for undergraduates (up to Rs. 2 lakh over the degree) and 100 for postgraduates (up to Rs. 6 lakh). There is no application fee. The last date to apply is today, 5 October 2026, 11:59 PM.

Application Fee
There is no application fee at any stage. From the online application to the aptitude test and selection, everything is free.
Scholarship Amount
The amount is a cap for the entire degree, not per year. It can be used for tuition, hostel fees, laptop, books, courses and other study-related costs.
UG Eligibility
- Indian citizen living in India with at least 60% in Class 12.
- Studying in the first year of a regular, full-time undergraduate degree in 2026-27 at a UGC- or NAAC-recognised institution.
- Any subject or stream is accepted. No age limit.
- Parental annual income up to Rs. 15 lakh; priority to families earning under Rs. 2.5 lakh.
Not eligible
- Students in the second year or beyond.
- Online, distance, remote or other non-regular degrees.
- Those who skip the mandatory aptitude test or take it more than once.
- Students doing only a professional course such as CA or CS. If you also have first-year admission in a regular full-time B.Com, BBA or B.Sc, you may apply.
PG Eligibility
- Indian citizen in the first year of a regular full-time postgraduate degree in India in 2026-27, in Engineering, Technology, Energy or Life Sciences.
- GATE 2026 score between 550 and 1000, or at least 7.5 CGPA at graduation if you did not take GATE (divide percentage by 9.5 to get CGPA).
- No family income limit.
- Eligible degrees: M.E., M.Sc., M.Sc. by Research, M.Tech., M.Tech. by Research, MCA and M.Pharm.
- Fields include AI, Computer Science, Mathematics and Computing, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Renewable and New Energy, Material Science and Life Sciences.
- Not eligible: Integrated M.Tech, PhD, online, distance or part-time courses, and degrees abroad.
Selection Process
- UG: online application, aptitude test, document verification and evaluation, then final selection based on aptitude score, academics, personal details and family income.
- PG: online application with two short essays and two reference letters (one academic, one character), aptitude test, evaluation, video-call interview in Nov-Dec 2026, then final selection.

- Online and remotely proctored; camera and microphone must stay on.
- Extra 30 minutes for candidates with disability.
- A mock test is provided.
- UG test is also available in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Kannada.
- The application is not complete until the aptitude test is done.
Documents Required
- UG: passport photo, address proof, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, Bonafide certificate (name, institution, degree and year clearly shown), parental income proof, and disability or other scholarship proof if applicable.
- PG: passport photo, address proof, resume, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, Bonafide certificate or fee receipt, academic and character reference letters, plus experience/internship proof, GATE 2026 scorecard and disability certificate if applicable.
Bank Account and PAN
- UG students submit bank and PAN details after applying, by 18 October 2026.
- The account must be in the student's own name, active and KYC compliant. A parent's or relative's personal account is not accepted.
- Under 18: a joint account is fine if the student is the first holder.
- PAN is required for all; minors need a Minor PAN. A valid instant e-PAN is accepted.

- Open the portal through the email link and mobile OTP.
- Fill in personal, academic and family details and upload documents.
