Rs 15,000 on Your First Job! Rs 2,400 Crore Released Under PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, Benefit for Youth and Employers Both
An EPFO-linked scheme: incentives for first-time employees and for companies hiring new staff
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) gives incentives to youth getting their first formal job and to employers who hire new employees. The Union Cabinet approved it on 1 July 2025 and it has been in force since 1 August 2025.
Key points of the scheme
- Total outlay of about Rs 99,446 crore, aiming to support over 3.5 crore jobs in two years.
- Part A: Up to Rs 15,000 for first-time employees, paid in instalments rather than at once.
- Part B: Incentive for employers who hire new employees and keep them on payroll.
- The benefit is linked to EPFO registration, so a PF account starts from day one.
Latest update
- On 19 June 2026 the Prime Minister released about Rs 2,400 crore as the first instalment of incentives, said to benefit around 1.92 crore people.
- On 1 August 2026 the scheme completed one year of implementation.
How employees can benefit
- When you join, ask your employer whether your new EPFO registration (UAN) has been done.
- Activate your UAN and keep your bank account linked to Aadhaar so the money can reach your account directly.
- Your salary must be within the scheme's limit. Check full eligibility on the official portal pmbry.epfindia.gov.in.
- Once conditions are met, the amount is credited directly to your bank account.
For employers
Get new employees registered with EPFO on time, file the ECR correctly and keep them on payroll. The incentive depends on this.
