About This Guide
- Almost all voter ID work is done on the Voters' Service Portal (voters.eci.gov.in) or the official Voter Helpline App, with login by mobile OTP.
- Form 6 is for new voters, Form 6B for Aadhaar linking, Form 7 for deletion and Form 8 for correction, shifting, mobile update and replacement card. Voters abroad use Form 6A.
- The Election Commission does not charge any fee for these forms. Do not pay agents.
- Never share your OTP. Keep your reference number until the update is done.

Common Tips
- Use only voters.eci.gov.in, the official app or your BLO. Avoid unknown websites.
- Enter details exactly as in your documents.
- Keep the mobile number in your voter record active, because OTP is needed everywhere.
- Apply only once. Duplicate entries may be cancelled.
- If you moved within India, use shifting (Form 8) instead of deleting your old entry first.
- File deletion only for genuine reasons, since false objections can lead to legal action.
